Twice a Week Funk
Childhood Hero
Mine were dragons. ALways, in any size/shape or form.
Make fun of something
Making fun of my inability to do Parkour seemed like a good start. Also, doughnuts for breakfast are fun!
SHELL's Deep Cleaning Initiative
A set of three illustrations required for Shell's internal “Deep Clean” initiative for all their sites in India regarding a focus on cleaning activities at the Gas Station sites. This was an internal campaign for Shell staff, Retailers and Site staff, which focused on cleanliness/housekeeping etc.
Instead of three generic posters on cleanliness, I decided to create series of comics instead, which could involve incidents around the gas stations and be more relatable to the end viewers.
The story revolves around two characters called Saaf (a broom) and Suthra (a mop) who work with the Shell employees to clean up a messy site. 'Saaf and Suthra' is a phrase equivalent to mean 'Clean and Tidy'.
The original three were well received and eventually resulted in a fourth illustration centred around the theme 'The Saaf-and-Suthra' award.
Fan Post!
Yes, so all of my roots emerge from fandom - and since I have done little else but fan-art for a while, let me just pay tribute to some of my fandoms right here:
The sketch was composed in PS, and inked in Illustrator after. I couldn't decide whether to do it in colour or in monochrome so I did it both. In other news, Illustrator is fun! Characters from left t right:
Fox Mulder, Dana Scully, Agent K, Agent J, Lincoln Lee , Olivia Dunham, Walter Bishop and Peter Bishop (blue 'verse).
A wee bit of the original idea in higher resolution for y'all. The original idea stemmed from me wondering what would happen if Fox Mulder happened to meet the MiB. I mean, seriously - that's just asking for trouble. Or maybe he's already met them several times and has no idea :P
X files meets MIB meets Fringe.

Indianism Woes
The concept of the 'mother tongue' is very Indian, if only because we have so many languages in so many different states.
Most children start off by growing up surrounded by this regional language - from their parent speaking it (hence the epithet of mother-tongue) to the people at school etc. Unfortunately, my family travelled a lot, so I had contact with several languages growing up and never managed to fully grasp this elusive mother-tongue because - well - we all just spoke English at home.
Needless to say, this did impact my ability to answer this question incorrectly. The teacher was not pleased with my 'back-talking', alas :P

Get in kids, we're going to do SCIENCE!
Illustration done for a friend and his Phyziks. I picked Schrodinger's and Turtles because I could (Plus c'mon they're fun).
For your viewing pleasure - Schrodinger's Cat has its revenge.
And a nice variation on one of my favourite phrases - but with turtles!

Done in PS and PS and more PS.
Because Nathan Fillion Because
Comic Strip style poster for Sandhya Ramachandran's wonderfully haunting film Oviyam. Her undying love for Nathan Fillion's Rick Castle is matched only by my undying love for him in Firefly :P
Done entirely in PS, with very little imagination and finesse :P
Sunday Morning Shenanigans
Some people really know how to make that wake-up call. Nothing like waking up to an artist whose work you admire calling you up and babbling into his ear for five minutes. AAAAAAAAH I SPOKE TO JASON PALMER TODAY!
Here is a rough and dirty comic describing the same. Right click -> Open in new tab for full view. Blogger's interface sucks.
I will punish you with my puns dammit.
Heeeeeey look I made a bad pun! X-Men First Class fan art, because well I like bad puns, and then I thought Charles Xavier probably likes bad puns and then inflicts them on Magneto and all that lead to two grown men sitting on lemons. Go figure.
Done in PS CS4.

Misanthropy Manip
To quote Sherlock - Bored. Bored. BORED. What's a good cure? Give everybody a fish-head and make fun of them, of course. Is good plan, no? Besides, someecards is always awesome.
